Soft and lush, these blankets are woven in the Blackstone River Valley of Massachusetts by some of the last mill weavers and workers left in the United States. The fibre itself is from the Imperial Stock Ranch in Shaniko, Oregon.
Once a year Dan and Jeanne Carver harvest the soft versatile and beautiful wool from their stock of Columbia sheep. They take great care in tending their flock and the wool is then milled without the use of harsh chemical producing some of the most beautiful wool in the world.
We were very happy to have found the Carvers and Imperial Ranch as they also have a great respect and belief in the revival of the American textile world. As a country of workers with generations of knowledge we hope that our making and selling our Capes - Shawls and Blankets will bring this industry back to life so that our children’s children will experience the beauty of a fine wool blanket.
